The Philippines is one of the countries affected by the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) starting early January 2020.  The rapid spread of the virus prompted the issuance of Proclamation No. 929 by the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, declaring a State of Calamity throughout the country and imposing an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the entire Luzon.

Republic Act No. 11469 or the “Bayanihan to Heal As One Act” was enacted granting the President temporary authority to implement measures to mitigate, if not contain the spread or transmission of COVID-19.

As a way of mitigating or containing the spread or transmission of COVID-19, through the “Bayanihan to Heal As One ACT”, “Bayanihan Grant to Cities and Municipalities” was released as per Local Budget Circular No. 125, dated April 7, 2020.

LGU Hungduan received its Bayanihan Grant on April 16, 2020, amounting to Eight Million Five Hundred Thirty Four Thousand Three Hundred Ninety Nine Peso (8,534,399.00), which is equivalent to one (1) month Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) of the municipality. The grant was appropriated on the following Programs, Projects and Activities (PPAs) as per guidelines set by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM),.

  • Other Supplies and Materials Expenses
  • Drugs and Medicines
  • Medical, Dental & Laboratory Supply Expense
  • Food Supplies Expense (for relief)
  • Food Supplies Expense (frontliners)
  • Fuel, Oil, & Lubricants Expense
  • Other Maintenance & Operating Expenses
  1. Capital Outlay
  2. Other PPE

As of May 30, 2020, Nine (9) Barangays of the municipality, with Two Thousand Three Hundred Sixty Eight individuals were benefited from the Bayanihan Grant, amounting to Five Million Nine Hundred Seven Thousand Eight Hundred Eighteen Pesos and Twenty Six Centavos (5,907,818.26), having an allotment balance of Two Million Six Hundred Twenty Six Thousand Five Hundred Eighty Pesos and Seventy Four Centavos (2,626,580.74).  The implementation of the said grant is on-going, expected to be fully utilized or completed on or before August 20, 2020.
